A Wells Buchanan.

Just going through some old photos for Graham's Easter page and came across this one from the Bolwell Easter at Bairnsdale in 1996. It's only fair to share it among the Buchanan fans.

John,
Fondish memories. I recall that it was very cold and wet that year and I don't recall many people offering to swap drives!
One thing I do note from the photo is that all 180cm and probably 90+ kg of me is reasonably well contained within the car.
I never liked seeing a sports car where the driver looked like they were sitting on the car rather than in it.
Incidentally my car is now owned by a Peter Albon, who has done considerable (great) work to it. It also appears on the Buchanan site.
Roo believes it was one of the factory cars with a Rizzo chassis that raced at Bathurst in the 1950's.
I always thought that the car and chassis were way too well built to be an avereage backyarder's job.
Shame the internet wasn't around last century, I still can't believe I owned, and sold a Bathurst race car!

I've always made that comparison between Cobras and Nagari sports. One you sit IN and one you sit ON.
