Memories

Colin's been trying out his new scanner on some old photographs. Here's half a dozen.
"Drag Nationals 1973, McAskill vs. Stratton."
"Ex Geoff Wood Mk.7 at paint shop showing colour in gelcoat 1972."
(one of the first Mark 7s to hit the road in SA. It was dark blue before the rub back.)
"Tonkin Mk.7 at Brand's Winery, Coonawarra 1973."
"Mk.7 Hillman Hunter Royal dash."
(I'm pretty sure this was the one destroyed in a shed fire in Whyalla).
"Mk.7 fixed up and back on the road."
"My Mark 7 in 1978".
(speaking of shed fires.)

Mk7 with Hunter 770 dash was the ex Patrick Plastics car. TR4 chassis and running gear swapped for factory chassis and Holden running gear and yes was destroyed in shed fire as was blue Mk7 in 1978. Geoff Wood Mk 7 build in 1966 was followed on Sat morning TV series as Wood was TV presenter or technician. Once the floods here allow me free movement I will pop down to Pantip Plaza and get a more sophisticated scanner and begin to scan the 1,000 or so Bollie slides I have from the 70's and send them to you.
