Kapunda - wek 40

Chris P had her beautiful Mustang out for the street party the other week.

Wasn't a bad roll-up.
One of my favourite cars there was this one.
It's Glen S's Hudson Pacemaker. He's got a couple of Commodores for spares. The reason it's not quite as clean as when Glen left home is because, like heaps of people around here, he's a farmer and lives down a dirt road. Here's a typical road........

Ooooo...I love those 'step-down' Hudsons. There were two parked in a driveway (behind a Renault Dauphine) on Glen Osmond Rd for many years. I pestered and pestered the old gent to sell them to me. Finally, he relented and politely told me...if I didn't get off his property he'd set his dog on me! Eventually the property was sold, the block cleared and the cars never seen again.

I remember that. It was next to the Catholic School at Parkside. They were still there going rusty when he died.

Yes, those were the ones...the house actually had the fascade of an older house in front of it. Very strange. He had every car he ever owned parked on that property. Apparently he loved to tease would-be collectors, so they probably all went for scrap.
