I said "Trident" not "Triden", Wayne.

Love the old Chev truck.
Thanks for the photo Duane.

Your photo of the 3 Neptune cars brought back great memories – my first competition car was a rebuilt Peter Manton Mini Cooper and that was to lead to many Cooper S comp cars as days went on. The Cooper had been purchased and pranged by a Canberra guy and left to perish – I purchased it and had it hammered back into shape on a front nature strip down the road – the house owned by Sergeant Copper Farrugia – the man with the hammer an old school buddy who also shared Tony as a first name – he went on to own a world recognised Panel shop – tony Farrugia Bodyworks in Fyshwick – a beautiful establishment where you could eat your pea floater straight off the floor.

The Cooper had a rebuilt engine and held the record at Lakeview Hillclimb (near Bungendore) and many FTD’s ahead of Lakis Manticis in his track only Cooper S – on that day I removed the Dunlop slicks and ran Michellin XAS street tyres as the under road creek was seeping like a spring. At the end of the day as I was knocking the exhaust and muffler back into place I was asked – you don’t drive that on the street!!!! But of cause I do its my only transport – the XT GT was outside the event enclosures.

Ah that feels good – geez grey hair wrinkles – now to build something fast again!!!!!!

Your articles are bringing back a lot of memories of Bolly owners that were around when I first started my old project. Chemical factories and manors all drift back each now and again and you wonder where they are today.

At least you and I have not taken to pushing up roses.
